About Us

Linoma Football Club (LFC) was founded in 1986 by individuals residing in Omaha who also attended college in Lincoln. In fact, the club’s name was created by some of the first members in an apartment in Lincoln, Nebraska. The result was the name Linoma F.C. - Lin (Lincoln) Oma (Omaha) - to reflect those blended early experiences. The club began by fielding an outdoors team in the Nebraska Men’s Soccer League (NMSL), which had three divisions of ten teams each. As the oldest soccer league in Nebraska the NMSL was extremely competitive, and Linoma F.C. is the longest running club in this league. 

The NMSL was successful and other leagues formed, including Latino, Indoor, Men’s, Women’s, and Co-ed leagues. Linoma F.C. also grew and transformed over the years incorporating Men’s, Women’s, Co-ed, outdoor and indoor teams. The love of soccer drew more and more players to Linoma F.C.!

As one of the most successful and competitive clubs in Omaha, Linoma F.C. has shared their passion for their club and the love of the game playing in tournaments in many places over the years, including:  Nebraska, Ohio, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, and even overseas to Ireland!  Over the years LFC has won many state titles and been involved in a number of regional championships. 

in 2024 LFC applied to and was approved to join the Midwest Premier League (MWPL). The MWPL has some of the best talent from all over the Midwest playing against one another at some top facilities.  LFC is grateful to be included. The LFC family is proud to carry forward their community spirit to the MWPL and continue their tradition of excellence in soccer.

Fun Fact: LFC is the longest running soccer club that has maintained its brand in the state of Nebraska! 

Another Fun Fact: There is actually a lighthouse named Linoma that is located on a beach on the road between Omaha and Lincoln.  Thus, the connection to the lighthouse in the new LFC brand and logo.
